StarCruises launches special voyage featuring celebrity Chef Wan

StarCruises is set to elevate its holiday offerings with a special collaboration that brings Malaysia’s renowned culinary figure, Datuk Chef Wan, aboard the Star Voyager early next year.

The celebrated chef will join guests departing from Port Klang on the three-night cruise to Pulau Bintan and Singapore from Jan 30 to Feb 2, 2026, promising a voyage enriched with flavour and entertainment.

In a statement, StarCruises said the partnership with Malaysian restaurant group De.Wan 1958 aims to offer guests an immersive dining experience at sea, led by one of the nation’s most recognisable culinary personalities.

Throughout the sailing, Chef Wan will host an exclusive live cooking showcase, presenting selected signature dishes while engaging guests with his trademark humour and vibrant stage presence.

Passengers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a specially curated dinner buffet at The Lido, the ship’s inclusive dining venue. The menu – available only on this sailing – has been designed by Chef Wan to highlight a range of Malaysian favourites alongside his own creations.

The Lido, which features a dedicated section serving certified halal cuisine on all Port Klang departures, will further expand its offerings for this occasion, allowing guests to savour a diverse selection of traditional dishes and desserts.

The collaboration forms part of the Star Voyager’s festive season programme, which will operate from Port Klang for a limited period between Dec 19, 2025, and Feb 2, 2026.

During this season, Malaysians can choose from two itineraries designed for convenient short getaways: a three-night cruise to Pulau Bintan and Singapore departing every Friday, and a four-night cruise to Phuket and Singapore departing on Mondays.

StarDream Cruises president Michael Goh said the cruise line was delighted to have Chef Wan on board, noting that his passion for Malaysian cuisine and engaging personality would complement the holiday experience offered on the Star Voyager.

“His presence brings a refreshing culinary dimension to our sailings. Guests can look forward to memorable moments filled with exceptional food, warm company and new adventures,” he said.
