Pavilion Bukit Jalil welcomes Year of the Horse with month-long festive celebration
Pavilion Bukit Jalil ushered in the Year of the Horse with a month-long Chinese New Year celebration themed ‘Joyful Prosperity Together, Here’, offering a vibrant blend of tradition, innovation and community-focused experiences from today until Feb 24.
The festive campaign was officially launched at Pavilion Bukit Jalil by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, alongside Pavilion REIT Management Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Philip Ho and Maybank Berhad Head of Cards Md. Gharif Talib, reflecting the mall’s growing role as a lifestyle and cultural hub within Malaysia’s festive and tourism calendar.
Chief Executive Officer (Retail) of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Joyce Yap said the celebration was curated to deliver a refreshed and immersive Chinese New Year experience while preserving traditions cherished by families.
“This year’s celebration is designed to engage visitors from the moment they arrive – from striking decor and performances to interactive attractions that bring people together in a joyful and memorable way,” she said.
A key highlight is Leap into Luck by XiaoMa and MaBao, recognised as Malaysia’s first robotic festive performance in a shopping mall. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, XiaoMa symbolises vitality, perseverance and new beginnings, accompanied by MaBao, whose presence adds warmth and charm. The performance will be staged on Jan 24 and 31, as well as Feb 2 and 14.
Centre Court has been transformed with a visually striking festive landscape, featuring a 16-foot Golden Tree by Gold Art, eight horse installations and a 15-foot centrepiece horse. Families can also enjoy carousel rides with minimum spending, while numerous photo-friendly spots enhance the celebratory atmosphere.
Adding to the attractions is the Horse Ride Experience at Level 3, PIAZZA, from Feb 6 to 8, allowing visitors aged nine and above to enjoy feeding sessions, photo opportunities and complimentary horse rides with qualifying purchases.
Throughout the season, Pavilion Bukit Jalil will host a diverse line-up of performances, including traditional and acrobatic lion dances, musical showcases, fashion presentations and school ensembles. The festivities will culminate with the 2026 Lion King Championship, featuring national and international lion dance competitions and an ASEAN LED lion dance record attempt, reinforcing Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s commitment to celebrating culture, unity and togetherness.
