Ten public markets to be developed as tourism landmarks
Ten public markets across Malaysia have been identified as pioneer projects to be transformed into tourism-oriented destinations and community landmarks, a move aimed at revitalising local economies and enhancing urban liveability. Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the upgrading of the selected markets would involve an allocation exceeding RM10 million and would be implemented through open architectural design competitions.
