60-metre tall Sky i-City debuts in i-City
Malaysia No. 1 Digital City, i-City launched Sky i-City recently. Sky i-City is a 60-metre-tall structure with a glass slide attraction.
With its first-of-its-kind offerings in Malaysia, Sky i-City features an observation deck with a fully transparent glass floor at the top of the structure, giving visitors a breathtaking view of the Klang Valley skyline. It is also connected to the 600-metre glass slide, which takes visitors on a thrilling ride
through loops and twists while enjoying panoramic views of the city.
This striking new addition, adorned with energy-efficient LED lights, is the new landmark at i-City and has changed the skyline of i-City. It adds to the growing appeal of i-City and Selangor’s capital city as Visit Selangor Year 2025 and Visit Malaysia Year 2026 approaches.
Sky i-City complements i-City’s other attractions such as the ever popular minus 8 degree celcius SnoWalk, Digital Sport Arena, MySports, including enhancing CNN-acclaimed City of Digital Lights, and the two hotels: DoubleTree by Hilton i-City and Wyndham Garden i-City.
These attractions and hotels are projected to bring 5 million visitors in 2025, contributing significantly to Selangor’s economy, where tourism accounts for 26.5% of the state’s GDP.
In supporting Visit Malaysia Year 2026, i-City also focuses on attracting visitors from key markets such as the Middle East, Singapore, India, and China, which aim to attract 35.6 million international tourists and generate RM147.1 billion in tourism revenue.
According to i-City Director Monica Ong, Sky i-City highlights i-City’s commitment to sustainable tourism. The tower is illuminated by energy-efficient LED lighting, which uses less energy than traditional lighting, reducing carbon emissions and electricity consumption.
These features support i-City’s efforts to minimise its environmental impact while maintaining its reputation as Malaysia’s No.1 Digital City.
She said, “Sky i-City will not only be a key attraction at i-City. In fact, it will be one of the key attraction for Malaysia and it reflects our focus on innovation and sustainable development. It allows us to attract visitors while contributing to national tourism and sustainability goals.”
She added that i-City will continue to combine cutting-edge attractions with sustainable practices, offering unique experiences that appeal to a wide range of visitors.
