Kuala Lumpur Sings Timeless Tunes With AR Rahman

The highly anticipated concert “A.R. Rahman Live in Kuala Lumpur 2024,” organized by Star Planet, enthralled a full house at Bukit Jalil National Stadium tonight. The legendary composer and musician AR Rahman, accompanied by renowned singers such as Mano, Srinivas, AR Ameen, Shwetha Mohan, Shakthishree Gopalan, ADK, Blaaze, Sri Rascol, and more, delivered an unforgettable evening of music and entertainment.

The stage production, complemented by state-of-the-art audio-visual technology and over 30 dancers with spectacular choreography, provided an exhilarating and worthwhile experience. The stage was curated to ensure excellent sound quality, adhering to the artist’s high standards.

Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk R. Ramanan, graced the occasion of the concert with their esteemed presence, adding a touch of distinction to an already spectacular evening filled with mesmerizing music and performances. Their arrival was met with great enthusiasm and applause, as the audience acknowledged their support for the arts and culture.

With a target audience of 35,000 attendees, the event was meticulously planned to showcase Rahman’s musical genius while ensuring optimal crowd control and a memorable experience for every guest.

“Seeing a turnout of 35,000 attendees achieved within a short gap since his last performance, underscores Rahman’s immense popularity and enduring appeal. It is a privilege to bring A.R. Rahman and these talented artists to our city. Their performances tonight have touched the hearts of everyone present,” said Dato Alan Foo, Managing Director of Star Planet, expressing his delight at the great turnout and the opportunity to organise such an iconic event in Kuala Lumpur.

Fans from all over, including a significant number of international tourists from India and Singapore, attended the concert. Rahman’s magnetic performance resonated deeply with these attendees, reaffirming the event’s allure as a cultural and musical highlight in Malaysia.

In a meaningful gesture, seven orphanages were invited to attend the concert. “We hope to give the opportunity to children who might not otherwise have the chance to experience the magic of live music,” said Dato R. Rajendran, Director of Star Planet.

This initiative reflects Star Planet’s commitment to supporting charitable causes as part of its regular corporate social responsibility efforts. The organizer collaborates regularly with CSR Malaysia to reach out and contribute to the needy in the nation.

Having successfully organized close to 150 world-class concerts, this marks the first World Tour featuring an Indian super star ever brought on stage by Star Planet.

The planning for this spectacular concert was in discussion since last year after the Oscar-winning musician A.R. Rahman was signed by the international talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME), which represents prominent international stars including Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, and Jennifer Garner.

The solid three-and-a-half-hour concert, featuring a blend of Rahman’s classic hits and new compositions, kept the audience captivated throughout the evening. From soulful melodies to energetic performances, each artist contributed to a diverse musical journey that resonated with fans of all ages.
