TGIF! Friday feast awaits at Melia Chiang Mai in Thailand

Melia Chiang Mai in northern Thailand will host a vibrant ‘TGIF! (Thank God It’s Friday) Dinner Buffet’ in February and March, offering Malaysian and international travellers an indulgent way to usher in the weekend.

The themed buffet will be held at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Laan Na Kitchen, on Feb 27, 2026 and March 27, 2026, from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Among the key highlights are slow-roasted Picanha steak and pesto-crusted whole salmon at live carving stations, as well as grilled buttered scallops served on the shell. Guests can also savour made-to-order spicy Ramyeon noodle soup prepared with ingredients such as tofu, ham, sausage and cheese.

The extensive spread also includes spicy marinated salmon, sushi and sashimi platters, and a live station featuring Kaisendon – a bowl of warm short-grain rice topped with salmon, tuna, tobiko, salmon roe, avocado and cucumber.

A deep-fried corner offers favourites such as custard buns, sweet potatoes, spring rolls, tofu, chicken nuggets and gyoza. Desserts feature Hokkaido milk ice cream with assorted toppings and a selection of mini pastries.

The TGIF! Dinner Buffet is priced at THB1,099 net per person (approximately RM142), while an early bird rate of THB950 net (approximately RM123) is available for bookings made at least one week in advance with a non-refundable deposit.

Laan Na Kitchen is known for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine served in a lively market-style setting. The restaurant’s flowing design draws inspiration from northern Thailand’s terraced rice fields, with abstract ceiling artwork reflecting traditional rice-threshing baskets.

Rooted in the Spanish heritage of the Melia brand, the hotel’s dining portfolio also includes Mai Restaurant and Bar, MAI The Sky Bar, Tien Pool Bar, Ruen Kaew and The Level Lounge, an executive lounge on the 21st floor offering panoramic views of Chiang Mai city. -ASEAN FOOD & TRAVEL
