Zentis Osaka launches solo stay package celebrating independent travel
Boutique hotel Zentis Osaka has unveiled a new accommodation package designed exclusively for solo travellers, reflecting Japan’s growing embrace of independent lifestyles and solo experiences.
The package, named ‘Ohitori Osaka by Zentis’, takes its inspiration from the Japanese term ohitori, meaning ‘just for one’. It aims to offer guests a refreshing personal retreat while allowing them to explore Osaka at their own pace.
Available from 18 November for stays starting 3 January 2026, the package includes a two-night stay in a choice of Studio, Corner Studio, or Suite rooms.
Guests will also enjoy daily breakfast at UPSTAIRZ Restaurant, an in-room mini-fridge stocked with complimentary local beverages, a personalised cocktail, and a choice of exclusive gifts – either a skincare set from Japanese brand SISI or a custom fabric mist from The Flavor Design.
According to General Manager Kiyotaka Saito, the concept reflects a broader cultural shift in Japan.
“Solo travel and experiences like dining or going to the movies alone are becoming increasingly popular. It’s no longer seen as lonely but empowering.
“As a lifestyle hotel with intimate, cozy spaces, Zentis Osaka is perfectly suited for ‘ohitori-sama’ travellers seeking both exploration and relaxation,” he said.
Located at the crossroads of Dojimahama and Kita-shinchi, Zentis Osaka offers easy access to Osaka’s cultural and commercial hubs, including the Nakanoshima Museum of Art and National Museum of Art.
The hotel, part of the Design Hotels collection, features modern amenities for digital nomads such as communal workspaces overlooking garden views, a self-service lounge, and a multi-purpose ‘Room 001’ for guests preparing to explore the city.
Guests can also enjoy optional activities, including a river cruise along Osaka’s historic waterways and visits to nearby retro cafés steeped in Shōwa-era charm.
With rates starting from JPY 58,000 (approximately RM1,800) per person for single occupancy, excluding taxes and service charge, the Ohitori Osaka package highlights Zentis Osaka’s commitment to blending contemporary comfort with Japan’s evolving solo travel culture – celebrating both freedom and tranquility in the heart of the city.
