StarCruises welcomes back Chef Wan for May 2026 school holiday sailing
StarCruises has announced the return of Malaysia’s renowned celebrity chef, Datuk Chef Wan, onboard its cruise ship Star Voyager for a special school holiday sailing scheduled from May 22 to 25, 2026.
Following strong demand earlier this year, the three-night voyage will depart from Port Klang and sail to Phuket and Penang, offering passengers a combined experience of culinary activities, family-friendly entertainment and leisure travel.
The sailing is being organised in collaboration with Malaysian restaurant group De.Wan 1958, promising guests a curated onboard dining experience alongside a range of recreational offerings.
StarDream Cruises president Michael Goh said the decision to bring back Chef Wan reflects the positive response from guests during previous sailings.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Wan back onboard Star Voyager after the incredible response from our guests. His return during the school holidays makes this sailing even more special for families looking for great food, fun and quality time together at sea,” he said.
A key highlight of the voyage will be a live cooking demonstration by Chef Wan, where he will present selected signature dishes while engaging guests with his interactive style. Passengers will also have the opportunity to sample a specially curated menu at The Lido on the final night, included as part of the cruise package.
In addition, a dedicated halal dining section will be available at The Lido across selected departures, ensuring inclusivity for Muslim travellers. Guests dining at the venue may also have the chance to meet Chef Wan during a scheduled walkabout session.
Beyond the culinary offerings, the cruise features a range of onboard attractions including water slides at Aqua Park, a children’s water play area, rock-climbing wall, ziplining activities, themed entertainment programmes, and live performances at the Zodiac Theatre.
Accommodation options include interior, oceanview and balcony staterooms, as well as premium suites under The Palace category, which come with luxury amenities and 24-hour butler service.
The itinerary will include a stop in Phuket on Day 2, followed by Penang on Day 3, before returning to Port Klang at 7am on Day 4.
StarCruises said additional sailings are also scheduled for Star Voyager from Port Klang and Singapore in June 2026, including short cruises to Phuket, Pangkor, Tioman, Penang, as well as longer voyages to Vietnam.
Bookings for the May sailing are now open via the company’s official website and through appointed travel agents, with promotional discounts available for selected credit card holders.
